Born in Malta in 1960, I started marvelling at the night sky in my
childhood and, like many, was a keen student of the US and
Russian space race in the ‘60s and ‘70s from my early homes
in New Zealand, the US and Europe. Family-wise too, there is
a photo of my uncle standing next to Apollo 11’s Neil
Armstrong in Cape Kennedy just before Apollo 17 blasted off
for the moon in December 1972.
My first major contact with astrology goes back to 1984 when
I met Alan, the friend of a former high school classmate, at
a university party in Auckland, New Zealand. Alan had been a
practicing astrologer for several years and kindly offered
me a free reading. I gave him my birth details and the next
day he showed me my hand-drawn astrology chart and shared
several of his findings.
He knew things he couldn’t possibly know!
For example, that I had picked up the 16-stitch scar on my
forehead :
(1) when I was six years old;
(2) at my grandmother’s house;
(3) in the early evening; and, even
(4) that the first person who would be able to help me
afterwards was my uncle.
I was both stunned and hooked from that moment on!
I quickly obtained a copy of the beginner’s text-book that
got Alan started (which I still have to this day) and built
my library steadily from there. After three years of
self-study and astrology readings as a hobby for family and
friends, I started reading professionally in late 1987 in
New Zealand, continuing in Australia with private and
business clients from early 1989 onwards.
In recent years, ASTRODAMUS™ has been a regular presence at
the MindBodySpirit Festival at Darling Harbour and smaller
fairs, on Sydney radio and on the Internet. A new book is
due for completion in 2009, with an astrology workshop and a
TV programme for 2010 already in the planning stages.
